This image began as a photo of the shore and seascape lin Friday Harbor, Washington on a typically foggy morning.. After a quick sketch from the photo memory, it took shape as an acrylic on canvas, later to be photographed once more. At that point it evolved into mixed media, modern contemporary (new media) paintography. When I took a photo of the final iteration and subjected it to the whims of my muse-(and computer)- here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina the result was this digital rendering.
"Above the Fog" continues a theme that runs through my images : Nature, metaphor, love, friendship, collaboration, and consideration of the fraught process of selection we—each of us— face daily: The choice to reach "Above the Fog"
for pure possibility around us.
