“Openings “ demonstrates the synthesis of realism and abstraction It is a digitally-rendered minimalist-abstract image created right here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina. It actually began as a PHOTO- but evolved into this digitally-rendered new media mixed media format. I used combinations of paint, photo work and textured applications to create a “collage” of color and texture.
In this series, the objective was contemporaneously to narrate a story that invites the viewer to interpret the concept AND reveal art for art's own sake. . Here the synthesis of realism and abstraction is also nuanced through the use of line and color.
