Symbolism: As you know, the olive branch is known as a symbol of PEACE. It was St Augustine who wrote "perpetual peace is indicated by the olive branch which the dove brought with it when it returned to the ark." And, olive oil has been considered sacred, olive branches symbolic of abundance and many blessings. The olive itself symbolizes wisdom, fertility, power, and purity.

A huge olive ( AH LUV YA-I love you) is a smile in full color sending a bright message of pure delight, romance, earthiness and joy... a smile and a nod to the colorful olive itself as it boldly portrays metaphor, whimsy and humor.


Method: : I create from what is around me. I translate photos into mixed media often abstract expressionist digital renderings such as you see in this piece. I reach out for the story or metaphor to share in a narrative via texture, patterns, repetition that meet in the feeling of collage.

This piece creates its narrative via texture, patterns, repetition, and "post-painterly-abstraction fauve-wave" bits that meet in the feeling of an integrated collection of concepts and forms.
