This is "Another Day, Another Dance" No. 4 - . It is a semi- digital , mixed media piece having evolved from a photo as a digital rendering here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina.

This series, an example of contemporary digital art or "New Media Art,” reveals renderings derived purely from imagination. The intention is to bring joie de vivre to the viewer and collector.

Theme and Symbolism: : In this paintography piece, the juxtaposition of bold colors symbolizes positive change through envisioning awareness. This is a theme that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way. I use texture and layering to create the effect of movement in a positive direction. The prevalent –and very colorful- theme in this series refers to social, cultural and or individual challenges.

Method:: Abstract –Expressionism- Digital New Media Art - Interpretations of outer/inner landscapes with a persistent focus on patterns and bold or unusual color. Photo and digital manipulation not necessarily an accurate interpretation, but instead seeking to explore the essence of the subject by moving into shapes, colors, forms, textures, layering and the overall gestalt to achieve an effect. Glimpses of reality from unusual perspectives. Image-making prompted by nature.

Story: : I create visual narratives reaching out for the story and metaphor in a visual narrative via texture, patterns, repetition that meet in a feeling of lyrical abstraction. These elements offer a sense of coming together - a collection of concepts and forms that take shape.
