“Colors of the Southwest at Dawn and Dusk”
“Colors of the Southwest at Dawn and Dusk” is a post-painterly abstract paintography piece and a digital rendering for a textile design as created here in my studio here in Asheville, North Carolina. It is a "powerfully manipulated" creation originally a photography I took of cactus flowers.
This contemporary paintography art continues the thread of interest in exploring the emotional impact of times of day that inspires what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way. The visual story emphasizes the fraught process of selection we—each of us-- face every day—that being the choice to look for beauty and possibility in each sunrise and sunset.
