Original photography of a huge flower in a vase... AND!..did you notice, in the distance, an Inquisitive Cat? Is s/he looking "beyond" - relaxing, curiously by the window- inspired?
MIXED MEDIA- sketch/watercolor/acrylic/collage- This photo is now paintography created at my studio in Asheville, North Carolina - turned to contemporary mixed media art via the thread of interest that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way- nature and our relationships in nature.

How this piece evolved: I translated the photo into digital format, reaching out for the story or metaphor with digital manipulation to create the narrative as texture, patterns, repetition, and "post-painterly-abstraction fauve-wave" bits meet- sometimes even becoming a collage.
Symbolism: In this paintography piece, the juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change through envisioning different perspectives. Each of the images in this series bases its tale on the Concept of Change with Compassion. “The journey is the reward.”
