"Hearts and Flowers Love at First Light" No 2
"Hearts and Flowers Love at First Light" No 2 takes place as a scene at a window. I painted the bouquet on canvas where the north light accentuated my happy heart and feelings. Later, the canvas was photographed and turned to paintography.
This piece and the others in this series, represent the thread of interest that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way: The relevance - especially when divisive influences are afoot in the world - and importance of the sharing expressions of loving kindness.
“Hearts and Flowers Love at First Light” Series No could be an antidote to many challenging emotional experiences of contemporary life...as a note card...a pillow? How do you see it?
There are organic curves and rounded petals, but also complementary linear bits in varying color fields in this series- As in life, diversity my add to the overall strength of the scenario. A collector of this series confided that this blend of organic structure, hues and abstract elements helped her to “let go of unhappy self-chatter and move into a quiet mind.”

Symbolism: The tall vase symbolizes holding a place for possibility. The window frame represents strength and courage it takes when facing the fraught process of selection we—each of us-- face every day—that being the choice to look through the eyes of love in each precious moment of life.
In this paintography piece, the juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change through envisioning alternative perspectives. Each of the images in this series bases its tale on the concept of change with compassion.
