Description
"Here's Looking at YOU Kit"
This piece arrived from my original photo of Oliver, the cat as viewed at my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, then turned to contemporary paintography art via the thread of interest that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way— that being fascination with cats, nature and finding humor--even in the self-centered pursuits.
. The visual story emphasizes The Fraught Process of Selection that we—each of us in our own way—face every day. The cat is a SYMBOL of Narcissism --yet, there is something beyond that. Ensoleillé orange-(Sunny orange) cat aficionado reminds us that “With all art expression, when something is seen, it is a vivid experience, sudden, compelling, and inevitable.”~ Ansel Adams

THANKS SO MUCH for taking a deeper look to find what’s hidden here, to read the back-story. I so appreciate your comments, “Likes” and “Faves” and all the good energy that comes with that and inspires me.
** CREATE:: Engage your muse with this piece as framed (or unframed) gallery-quality prints for your living spaces. You can create very cool soft and durable duvet covers, fabric shower curtains, and throw pillows for that pop of pizzazz. Surprise family and friends with original art greeting cards. Or yourself with a weekender tote... (((*:*))
THEME AND SYMBOLISM:: In this paintography piece, the juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change through envisioning different perspectives. Here is the story of longing for connection a tale of change with compassion. This is a theme that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way.
METHOD:: Abstract –Expressionism-Narrative Digital Paintography. Interpretations of outer/inner landscapes with a persistent focus on patterns and bold or unusual color. Photo and digital manipulation not necessarily an accurate interpretation, but instead seeking to explore the essence of the subject by moving into shapes, colors, forms, textures, layering and the overall gestalt to achieve an effect. Glimpses of reality from unusual perspectives. Image-making prompted by nature.
BACK-STORY: : I create visual narratives from what is around me- make sketches into canvas work, then take a photo creating a mixed media digital rendering such as what you see in this piece. I reach out for the story and metaphor in a visual narrative via texture, patterns, repetition that meet in a feeling of lyrical abstraction. These elements offer a sense of coming together - a collection of concepts and forms that take shape.
Many Blessings
