“Keeping a Good Eye Out for You”
“Keeping a Good Eye Out for You” is an abstract expressionist / figurative abstraction piece created right here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina. It tells a story of an energetic "lookout cat" and invites you to add your interpretation. This narrative art in new media mixed media format – (such as combinations of pencil, ink, paint, photo work and textured applications) – often unfolds in a “collage” of color and texture. Whether on paper, canvas, or as a digital rendering, the result is “contemporary mixed media art” that celebrates nature with a nod to joie de vivre.
This image began as a photo of a cat who knows me ((=^:^=) and observes with good attention . After a quick sketch from the photo, the idea took shape on canvas –(acrylic)- later to be photographed once more. At that point, it evolved into modern contemporary -(new mixed media-) paintography.
