Digital Art - Original Paintings, Digital And & Mixed Media
LONGING FOR POLLEN came to life as allegorical art here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. This is a dreamscape (inner landscape.) It is Fusion-Collage-Paintography--a collage from photos of a bouquet of flowers by the window in my studio combined with an oil pastel, then digitally rendered.
I chose a minimalist approach because it offers "space" to tell a story -- an abstract built in many layers even though it might not look like it. The colors represent a feeling of isolation so many of us have experienced during the pandemic.
Here, in a single a vase, beautiful flowers reach out past the window. This rendering, " LONGING" - explores an unfolding tale of everyday living. It symbolizes new perceptions that open to change with compassion.
Fusion Art embraces a visual landscape most appealing as it may remind the viewer that disparate parts can work together.

HOW IMAGES COME TOGETHER::
Most often, images are sketched, then painted with acrylics on canvas. I usually add interest using charcoal, pen-and-ink, or oil pastel or pasted bits. After all this comes together, I take a photo of that collage. Next, I transfer the composition to Photoshop for digital rendering.
Now, the process of layering and manipulation takes place. Sometimes this happens quickly, but more often, it takes place over days, or weeks... . Finally, the paintography image emerges. It can be a lengthy process, but, eventually, it comes together reminding me, as Picasso said, “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
Generally, you will find in my fusion art collages any number of hidden characters.
All of my fusion art and contemporary abstract images feature many, many, many layers blended for "pasted effects" to reveal - through pattern, texture, and light- a visual narrative about life on our blue planet that welcome your interpretation.
ARTIST’S NOTE:: “These images may lead you to imaginative, emotive spaces where north and south meet east and west. A mindful philosophy and the use of technology can intersect and connect at a center to become vehicles for narratives about life on our blue planet. As we, each of us, and as a collection of living creatures face the fraught process of selection every day, may we find what is positive and possible.” ~ Zsanan
ZSANAN STUDIO CONTEMPORARY FUSION ART is designed to enhance your spaces when you add your unique touch. Her digitally-rendered collages- abstract, lyrical, and often vivid in color, are visual narratives frequently compassionate, curious, provoking- even playful or funny- but always emotive and interesting.
ZSANAN incorporates joie de vivre in her work. She focuses on fictional or allegorical scenes. Inner landscapes invite viewer interpretation as the artist’s digital rendering works with color, light, and texture via hundreds of layers until the final image emerges through digital manipulation.
Purposely constructed, the elements collaborate and translate a collection of concepts and forms into shape. They seek a shared moment— a story- a metaphor- a feeling- a connection with the viewer. The juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change -- the journey to new perspectives – that very story of connection.”
