Artist's Description
LONGING FOR POLLEN came to life as allegorical art here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. This is a dreamscape (inner landscape.) It is Fusion-Collage-Paintography--a collage from photos of a bouquet of flowers by the window in my studio combined with an oil pastel, then digitally rendered.
I chose a minimalist approach because it offers "space" to tell a story -- an abstract built in many layers even though it might not look like it. The colors represent a feeling of isolation so many of us have experienced during the pandemic.
Here, in a single a vase, beautiful flowers reach out past the window. This rendering, " LONGING" - explores an unfolding tale of everyday living. It symbolizes new perceptions that open to change with compassion.
Fusion Art embraces a visual landscape most appealing as it may remind the viewer that disparate parts can work together.
