Description

MANY BLESSINGS - came together in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina. But it started well before that in a lengthy process I smilingly refer to as my "art-tech-block-and-carve technique."

The process actually brings together my original art- ( pastel, acrylic and/or watercolor work)- plus photos to "arrive, “ as a *collage - having been captured via my smartphone. Thus translated, I begin the next steps. The addition of layers and layers (probably more than 100!) create the resulting JPEG into the digital rendering you see.

*Collage- inspired by nature brings together elements both abstract and true to the natural world. So, FUSION ART BY ZSANAN is ART TECH that combines my original work into a collage with my hand-carved digital rendering technique.

MATERIALS OFTEN USED:: Pen-and-ink for composition, watercolor, canvas paper, sometimes gloss medium, oil pastels, bits of acrylic paint etc.—captured as a photo to create a JPEG. Next comes lots and lots of digital layering of the original materials.

Meaning behind the digital collage - a story to tell: Promising Tales of Life on Planet Earth. This follows with my theme in narrative art with emotive content- ( some call an inner landscape)- that offers an opportunity for the viewer to interpret the story being told, and thus add to the story.

Whether as a digital abstractionist, working as well on canvas and with photography to produce mixed media images, my hope is to engage the viewer. My thought is that visual impressions, founded on simple or more complex designs, can build on an promising tale of life on planet Earth.

BLESSINGS TO ALL symbolizes a sense of joy of life, transitions, new perceptions that evoke positive change, the embracing of an inner - symbolic-mythic- visual landscape. This piece may have a particular appeal as the visual narrative reveals that even disparate parts CAN work together.
