Description
Mountain Dreams No 1 is from a photo I took as I looked out my studio door ! So, this image came to life close to home and right here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. This is a dreamscape (inner landscape.) Blessings of the mountains!
MOUNTAIN DREAMS is a watercolor blended into Mixed Media- a Fusion-Collage-Paintography image that offers space as narrative art that explores an unfolding story of everyday living and symbolizes change with compassion.
In its creation, Fusion art may remind the viewer that disparate parts can work together. As Friedrich Nietzsche said, "In pain there is as much wisdom as in pleasure; both are the two conservative forces of the species."
Generally, my canvases (acrylic) borrow bits from my collection of photos, drawings or sketches to join in the collage, along with hidden characters. After all this comes together, I take a photo of that collage. This goes to Photoshop for digital manipulations and rendering.

THANK YOU
All of my fusion art and contemporary abstract images feature many, many, many layers blended for "pasted effects" to reveal - through pattern, texture, and light- a visual narrative about life on our blue planet that welcome your interpretation.
“The images of Fusion Art may lead one to imaginative, emotive spaces where north and south meet east and west. Mindfulness in philosophy and technology can intersect at the center to become vehicles for narratives about life on our blue planet.”
HOW IMAGES COME TOGETHER::
Most often, images are sketched, then painted with acrylics on canvas. I usually add interest using charcoal, pen-and-ink, or oil pastel or pasted bits. Hours later, the piece is all set for a number of quick photos. Next, I transfer the composition to Photoshop.
Now, the process of layering and manipulation takes place. Sometimes this happens quickly, but more often, it takes place over days, or weeks... .. Finally, the paintography image emerges. It can be a lengthy process, but, eventually, it comes together reminding me, as Picasso said, “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
GALLERY DESCRIPTION:
The digital renderings of Zsanan are emotive. Lyrical abstractions, in an “off-kilter” style focus on fictional or allegorical scenes. Inner landscapes invite viewer interpretation as the artist’s digital rendering works with color, light, and texture via hundreds of layers until the final image emerges through digital manipulation.
Zsanan’s digital visual narratives are unique. Purposely constructed, the elements collaborate and translate a collection of concepts and forms into shape. They seek a shared moment— a story- a metaphor- a feeling- a connection with the viewer.
The juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change -- the journey to new perspectives – that very story of connection.
“As we, each of us, and as a collection of living creatures face the fraught process of selection every day, may we find what is positive and possible.” ~ Zsanan
