MountainScapes Series- MISTS AT DAWN is photo art- a combination of my photography and digital rendering Although it came together in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, it started –first, as as one of my early morning projects--a photo-, digitized as an "art-tech-block-and-carve” technique I am using here.

( I’m attracted to that technique because it can bring together bits from my original art to create a collage, digitally-rendered. Also, the elements, both abstract and organic, become “fusion art” with the objective of story telling.)

In this case, the visual narrative - is a metaphor for life, and symbolizes new possibilities, engagement-- and the prospects(with the barely visible road) for joie de vivre.

This is a narrative with emotive content- that offers an opportunity for the viewer to interpret the story being told, and thus add to the story. (Some are inner landscapes.) Whether as a digital abstractionist, working as well on canvas and with photography to produce mixed media images, my hope is to engage the viewer.

Symbolism ::MISTS AT DAWN symbolizes transitions, new perceptions that evoke positive change, the embracing of an inner - symbolic-mythic- visual landscape. This piece may have a particular appeal as the visual narrative reveals that even disparate parts can work together. My thought is that visual impressions, founded on simple or more complex designs, can build on a promising tale of life on Earth.
