Original photography of Oliver our neighborhood cat turned to a digital rendering. This paintography, as viewed from my cabin in Asheville, North Carolina is now contemporary mixed media art via the thread of interest that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way – stories and narrative about “Critical Thinking within a Fraught Process of Selection” we-- each of us-- face every day.

Symbolism in the Story:: ABRACADABRA! Oliver and the Magic Umbrella has something to say about the magic of humor and safety. The umbrella symbolizes protection and that is a good-thing when it comes to many of us who are apt to find unexpected "rainy days" in unseemly places. As you (and others) cope with everyday weirdness, not so ordinary distress and even disruption here’s a bit of homegrown advice about making critical choices mixed with whimsy and humor.

This series features my hand-drawn black pencil work. The effect of the combination may remind you of cartoons or even geometric abstract pieces. I try to create a lasting visual impression.
