“On the Wings of the Sun No.1 ” (series)
Have you ever wondered how much we rely on the sun? I wondered that one morning as I took s a photo of an awesome sunrise over the mountainside.
MIXED MEDIA :: After an ink sketch that same sunrise took shape on canvas –(acrylic)- later to be photographed once more. At that point, it evolved into modern contemporary -(new mixed media-) paintography. When I took yet another photo of the canvas - this time subjecting it to the whims of my muse-(and computer)- in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, the result was this abstracted digital rendering.
Walt Whitman's verse on that potent observer of life on Earth- “I too am not a bit tamed, I too am untranslatable, I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world” answered that question for me and was the inspiration for this series of abstract images.
