Description
THE REGATA AT FRIDAY HARBOR brings back so many memories of the amazing experience and the day I first sketched this image. Although it came together in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, it started –first, from that sketch, to acrylic on canvas then, digitized as an "art-tech-block-and-carve” technique I’ve come to find interesting.
( I’m attracted to the technique because it can bring together bits from my original art to create a collage, digitally-rendered. Also, the elements, both abstract and organic, become “fusion art” with the objective of story telling.)
In this case, the narrative is about courage under sail- a metaphor for life-and symbolizes engagement filled with joie de vivre.
GENERAL FUSION ART PROCESS:: Sketch for composition to canvas and/or paper, sometimes, oil pastels, sometimes acrylic paint. The result then captured as a photo and brought to create a JPEG. Finally, digital layering of the original materials.
Objective:: Narrative art with emotive content- that offers an opportunity for the viewer to interpret the story being told, and thus add to the story. (Some are inner landscapes.) Whether as a digital abstractionist, working as well on canvas and with photography to produce mixed media images, my hope is to engage the viewer.
Symbolism ::THE REGATA AT FRIDAY HARBOR symbolizes courage, adventure, and a sense of joy of life, transitions, new perceptions that evoke positive change, the embracing of an inner - symbolic-mythic- visual landscape.
This piece may have a particular appeal as the visual narrative reveals that even disparate parts can work together. My thought is that visual impressions, founded on simple or more complex designs, can build on a promising tale of life on Earth.
MORE ABOUT THE FUSION ART PROCESS ::
All of my fusion art and contemporary abstract images –whether impressionist or expressionist- feature many, many, many layers blended for "pasted effects" to reveal - through pattern, texture, and light- a visual narrative about life on our blue planet that welcome your interpretation.
* Generally, you will find any number of hidden characters in my art work. (((*:*))
ARTIST’S NOTE::
“These images may lead you to imaginative, emotive spaces where north and south meet east and west. A mindful philosophy and the use of technology can intersect and connect at a center to become vehicles for narratives about life on our blue planet. As we, each of us, and as a collection of living creatures face the fraught process of selection every day, may we find what is positive and possible.” ~ Zsanan

Striking abstract art and a generous-donation for an altruistic cause for pet rescue . There are few things as exciting than a sail race or spending time on a coast or sea shore . Watched many on Cape Cod !vL
