In the this piece a visual reference is made to African belief systems: The unique Supreme Being, distant, omniscient, omnipotent creator of the world, intermediate divinities or spirits who bridge the gap between God and man. ancestral spirits who watch over their descendants and other spiritual forces that influence the lives of humans.
The ship or vessel, protected by Liza, Sun god of West Africa, becomes a hot air balloon. A basket carries voyagers to positive futures where the notion of “rising higher” can lift all of us to new heights.
