SPACE AND COLOR can describe and potentially evoke responses on many levels. In this digital rendering, created here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, the combination of photos inspired by Michael Conner and my symbols and repeated patterns "arrived" when I used my smartphone to capture the JPEG then added layers (hundreds !+) to create the digital rendering you see.
Materials Often Used: pen-and-ink for design, watercolor and canvas paper, gloss medium, some oil pastels, bits of acrylic paint and sometimes glazing medium, smartphone to create JPEG, digital-rendering and photo manipulation- this is a collage-mixed media piece.
