"SEAWORTHY-BREAKTHROUGH TO BOLD " No. 3

THIS IMAGE IS 99% DIGITAL-with a tiny-tiny bit of hand-drawn /collage. It was just created here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA.-but I like to think that it speaks without borders- to the seafaring spirit.

This is an abstract narrative:
A sailing craft goes boldly-- full-sail.

The contrasting and intense colors express the energy of a moment. An intense shaft of light drops onto the canvas. A perspective is happening --beyond the storms. She responds.

Here is a BREAKTHROUGH. Impetus to change how we choose to "sail" the world. "To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete." ~Bucky Fuller

Here expressed is the nudge and jolt when elements come together with a sense of joie de vivre. This image came to life-- inspired by my love of oceans, seas, rivers and amazing bodies of water and being with them. A jaunt into the realm of possibility... .

SYMBOLISM: Unfolding Potential

For me, creating images is a coalescing experience. The nudge and jolt I mentioned happens when I bring together elements into one piece. This allurement reminds me of what David Bowie said, "I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring."

In fact, I do "lose track of time" while in the creative flow, and feel a deepening sense of calm. I love the process of lyrical abstraction where I can blend geometric and organic influences.

Objective:: Narrative art with emotive content- that offers an opportunity for the viewer to interpret the story being told, and thus add to the story. Whether as a digital abstractionist, working as well on canvas and with photography to produce mixed media images, my hope is to engage the person who is looking at the image.

Symbolism :: Ever a sense of joy of life, transitions, new perceptions that evoke positive change, the embracing of an inner - symbolic-mythic- visual landscape that can reveal how disparate parts work together when visual impressions, founded on simple or more complex designs, build on a promising tale of life on Earth.
