"Sun Warmed Pacific Coast"-
MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE--Here oil pastels and some heavyweight paper and Nature supply inspiration for a series of oil pastels done extemporaneously along the Washington State Pacific Coast and in Friday Harbor, Washington State--and then digitally rendered here in my studio in Asheville, N.C.
This image began as a plein air oil pastel. When I took a photo of the image and subjected it to the whims of my muse-(and computer)- in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina the result was this digital rendering. ...
It continues a theme that runs through my images: Nature, its power and influence on living creatures as we consider the fraught process of selection we—each of us— face daily: The challenge to become, as Thomas Berry noted, .." The Conscious Voice of Nature.”
