"THANK YOU FLOWERS"

"Thank You Flowers" is a digital painting- paintograph-mixed media piece that evolved from a hand drawn watercolor/plus acrylic on canvas paper. It was inspired by a photo I took here in my Asheville, North Carolina studio.

I loved an arrangement I'd placed in one of the always handy studio coffee mugs. It simply was filled to the brim with flowers that a friend gave me.

The Method:I create from what is around me. I translate photos into mixed media often abstract expressionist digital renderings such as you see in this piece. I reach out for the story or metaphor to share in a narrative via texture, patterns, repetition that meet in the feeling of collage. Through that process of digital enhancement and manipulation, this colorful floral representation can now (hopefully) provide a simple message, "Thank you."
