“The Quantum Storm”

This is digital paintography. It evolved from a photo taken of an approaching storm over Puget Sound near Friday Harbor, Wa, USA one late summer evening. That powerful presence felt “geometric” and so it seemed to call for the post-painterly abstraction rendering you see here.

Theme and Symbolism: : In this paintography piece, the juxtaposition of color with geometric shapes symbolizes positive change through coming to recognize different perspectives. Here is the story of longing for connection a tale of change with compassion. Tao Saying: “ The journey is the reward.”


Story and Method: : I create from what is around me. I translate photos into paintography- an often mixed media, abstract expressionist digital rendering such as you see in this piece. I reach out for the story or metaphor using visual narrative.

This piece creates its narrative via texture, patterns, repetition with references to "lyrical abstraction.” These elements meet to offer a feeling of coming together as the collection of concepts and forms take shape.
