Description
THE RIDE came to life art here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. This is a digital rendering- a collage of my photos and/or drawings/paintings with a story to tell. It could be called a dreamscape or an inner landscape. I like to think that it offers space for the viewer to interpret the story being told.
Whether as a digital abstractionist, working as well on canvas and with photography to produce mixed media images, my hope is to engage the viewer. My thought is that visual impressions, founded on simple or more complex designs, can carry a narrative that can build on an promising tale of everyday living.
THE RIDE symbolizes a sense of joy of life, transitions, new perceptions that evoke positive change, the embracing of an inner - symbolic-mythic- visual landscape. This piece may have a particular appeal as the visual narrative reveals that even disparate parts CAN work together.
