THE SEA WALLS
"The Sea Walls" No 1-Sunrise is the first in this series. It is a post painterly abstract expressionist piece that began with a photo I took of a seawall at ocean’s shore. It evolved in my studio here in Asheville, North Carolina and continues the thread of interest in nature that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way.
The visual story emphasizes the fraught process of selection we—each of us-- face every day—that being the choice to look for beauty and possibility in what is around us
Theme and Symbolism: : In this paintography piece, the juxtaposition of rich aqua to cyan color with changing light symbolizes positive change through envisioning different perspectives. Here is a metaphor or symbol where the wall represents persistence and the strength with compassion.
