Description
TREE OF LIFE Series No. 4 WINTER
CRANN NA BEATHA --( Irish ) -
LYRICAL ABSTRACTION- inspired by the verse of Billy Collins--"the rustle of tall leafy trees"-- is a contemporary collage – a combination--.It evolved from a photo I took while walking along the seacoast in Ireland.
I hoped to capture a sense of ancient lore: A planting of trees for abundance and shelter.
That very photo evolved into this digital rendering with added tones, patterns, shadows to suggest the season, an emotive element and the deepening of Celtic myth and mystery.

SYMBOLISM: Crann na Beatha or the Celtic Tree of life symbolizes the forces of nature in harmony. Here there is balance throughout the land and seas and skies. According to Celtic mythology crann na beatha possessed the "energies" that empowered those who gathered beneath it with the comforts of camaraderie, shelter, food and the awareness of our interconnectedness with nature and each other.
The CELTIC TREE OF LIFE illustrates nature’s cycle of change where amazing, living, breathing, earthly things speak to a sense of belonging. This paintography (photo-art) piece coalesces a fascination with the hues and metaphors of the changing seasons. The Celtic Tree of Life offers symbolic references to rebirth and renewal. The palette refers the viewer to renewed hope, and love, and the pure potential built in for individual growth, for when the snows depart and the birds return, what lies beneath stirs.
Nature teaches the dependable unfolding of change with compassion. This digitally manipulated photo-art tells the story of renewal and vitality as a visual impression of change with compassion.
Lyrical abstraction- as photo-art, paintography, contemporary collage –(possibly a combination of Irish roots and sentiment- that evolved from a photo I took while walking along the seacoast in Ireland.) I hoped to capture a sense of ancient lore: The planting of such trees for abundance and shelter. That very photo evolved into this digital rendering with added tones, patterns, shadows to suggest the season, an emotive element and the deepening of Celtic myth and mystery.
