"Tree Witness to the Lake at Dawn"
This lyrical abstraction- a combination of sentiment and reason- evolved from a photo I took on a walk with my dog around a lake in Asheville, North Carolina. The wind was whipping around the trees – making noises I’d never heard before. You could be caught in its twirling motion. The photo I took at that very moment inspired this piece. I added distinct tones to define the emotion I felt. The patterns and shadows suggest deepening expanses. You may sense that something intriguing is on the horizon.

Symbolism: Like many nature lovers, the energy cycle of living, breathing, earthly things amazes me. For me, this paintography piece coalesces our fascination with the colors, hues, stories and metaphors of changing seasons . When the snows depart and the birds return, what lies beneath stirs. So the symbolic references are to Earth’s ongoing theme of rebirth and renewal. The tiny pansies refer the viewer to renewed hope and love and romance and blooming and individual growth.
Nature teaches the dependable unfolding of change with compassion. This digitally manipulated photo-art tells the story of renewal and vitality as a visual impression of change with compassion.
