“Wallflower or Ballet Dancer” -- Series No. 3
“Wallflower or Ballet Dancer,” an abstract expressionist / figurative abstraction piece, was inspired by Elton John’s, “Tiny Dancer” and by a photo I took of a wildflower outside my studio door and converted to a digital rendering! It is one of a series—variations on a theme. It came to life here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina.
This also is narrative art in the new media mixed media format – (such as combinations of pencil, ink, paint, photo work and textured applications.) It unfolds in a “collage” of color and texture. Whether on paper, canvas, or as a digital rendering, the result is a story told within the framework of contemporary mixed media art.
