Description
WE ALL DRINK WATER No.7-"...and , in the end..."
This image- from a series of Fusion/Collage/New Media Art- and/or Paintography-was created right here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA- where I combine bits from my photos - (or were sent to me for commissioned art)- with visual narratives about life on our blue planet.

HOW THIS IMAGE CAME TOGETHER:: At first I sketched, then painted acrylic on canvas or paper, then added bits with graphite/charcoal/pen-and-ink or oil pastel. Next, I took a photo of the image I had before me -JUST with my smart-phone! Then I transferred that image to Photoshop and began the process of layering and manipulation until this paintography image emerged as you see it.
This series features figurative abstract images that invite your interpretation. They are, simultaneously, abstractions and true to the natural world. As contemporary photo-paintings they reflect life in all of its sometimes weird glory.
I’m thinking that “Fusion Art” like this can invite you into an space without time constraints where pure possibility exists....
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.” ~ Pablo Picasso
GALLERY DESCRIPTION: The emotive, lyrical abstractions in digital renderings of Zsanan focus on fictional or allegorical scenes where inner landscapes offer an open door to a visual narrative that invites your interpretation.
The New Media/Mixed Media - Graphite, Charcoal, Paint, Photography, Digital Collage lyrical abstraction renderings of Zsanan are emotive. They manipulate light and texture via layering the imagery with paint, original pen and ink /acrylic art other materials. They focus on inner landscapes and/or allegorical scenes; visual narratives that invite your interpretation. Any number of these images are meant to be printed in large scale.
METHOD::. This visual narrative aims for a shared sense of being in the moment -- uses composite and multiple layering of images-photo-manipulation and digital rendering to produce a story- a metaphor- a feeling- of lyrical abstraction Purposely constructed, the elements offer a sense of collaboration via a collection of concepts and forms as they take shape.
_____
SYMBOLISM:: The juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change ... the journey to new perspectives. Represented here is a story of connection. May this piece become an impetus for change with compassion.
As we - each of us- (and as a collection of living creatures) - face the fraught process of selection every day- may we find what is positive and possible.
