ASHEVILLE -- PASTELS AT THE POND
"... as clouds go flying by..."
I am here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina--inspired by Billy Collins' verse-- "as clouds go flying by"-- where the sentinel peaks of The Blue Ridge Mountains overlook the confluence of the French Broad river (racing north) and the Swannanoa (flowing west) -- feeling inspired.
The clouds surround the studio this early morning. The temperate rainforest is speaking--calling me to walk the trails, travel the mountain coves, follow those rivers to creeks and waterfalls and stretch up to where the tall hemlocks live--and share the images nature provides.
This is about simply loving where you ARE.... ...
Here, from one of my canvases (acrylic) -- I borrow bits --then add more from a photo I took of one Asheville scene. I converted this all on canvas (accentuated with ink) to create a mixed media collage.
