Description
THE MINDFUL LANDING OF A GALLANT GOLDEN EAGLE
came to life here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA- where, often, my inclination to create New Media/Fusion/Collage/Paintography has been described as slightly “off-kilter-modernist” in style. (I’m smiling.)
MIXED MEDIA FROM ORIGINAL CANVAS --Here, one of my canvases (acrylic) borrows bits from photos I took, or were sent to me for a commissioned piece. My drawings or sketches may join in this collage, after which
I take a photo of that collage to Photoshop for digital manipulations and rendering.

This contemporary abstract expressionist image features many, many, many layers blended for "pasted effects" to reveal - through pattern, texture, and light- a visual narrative about life on our blue planet. It invites your interpretation
The images of Fusion Art may lead one to imaginative, emotive spaces where north and south meet east and west. Mindfulness in philosophy and technology can intersect at the center to become vehicles for narratives about life on our blue planet.

HOW IMAGES COME TOGETHER::
They may be sketched, then painted acrylic on canvas or paper, then I usually add interest using graphite/charcoal/pen-and-ink or oil pastel or pasted A photo comes next -JUST with my smart-phone! Then I transfer that image to Photoshop. Then there’s the process of layering and manipulation until the paintography image emerges.
It can be a lengthy process. As contemporary photo-paintings, I’ve been told that they often reflect life in all of its (sometimes weird) glory. After all, “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.” ~ Pablo Picasso
GALLERY DESCRIPTION:
The digital renderings of Zsanan are emotive, lyrical abstractions in an off-kilter, modernist style that focuses on fictional or allegorical scenes. Here, inner landscapes offer an open door that invites your interpretation. Digital renderings manipulate light and texture via multi-layering paint, original pen and ink, acrylic art and many, many, many layers in digital manipulation.
Zsanan’s digital visual narratives are unique in that they seek to elicit a sense of being together in a shared moment. They use composite and multiple layering of images-photo-manipulation and digital rendering to produce a story- a metaphor- a feeling- of lyrical abstraction. Purposely constructed, the elements offer a sense of collaboration via a collection of concepts and forms as they take shape.
The juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change -- the journey to new perspectives -- a story of connection.
“As we - each of us- and as a collection of living creatures - face the fraught process of selection every day- may we find what is positive and possible.” ~ Zsanan
