EARTHWINGS- THE JOURNEY OF METAMORPHOSIS NO. 1
came to life here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA- where, often, my inclination to create New Media/Fusion/Collage/Paintography has been described as slightly “off-kilter-modernist” in style. (I’m smiling.)
Here, one of my canvases (acrylic) borrows bits from a photo I took of a butterfly at the studio door. This photo was blended into the canvas using oil pastels .I accentuated the shapes with a series of ink inserts to create a mixed media collage. Next,
I took a photo of that collage to Photoshop for digital manipulations (100s of layers) and rendering.
