"Naughty or Nice"
Here is the cat, Polonius, hiding out in the holiday tree. This image is from an original photo as viewed here in the cabin in Asheville, North Carolina turned to contemporary paintography mixed with wry humor.
The visual story emphasizes The Fraught Process of Selection that we—each of us in our own way—face every day- and that is whether to laugh at unexpected surprises--or not.
You may recognize influences- from Post-Painterly Abstraction, to Abstract Expressionist, even to Fauvism. In each case, I create from what is around me, or from an inner landscape arrived on a journey with an insistent muse and a photo hunt.
In this paintography piece, the juxtaposition of color with changing light is SYMBOLIC of positive change through envisioning a variation of perspectives. And again, images base the story they tell on the concept of Change with Compassion.
