THE EXPECTANT -first worked out on canvas, came together in my studio in Asheville, after a lengthy process –first, using a variety of knives and handwork- then photographed, digitized in an "art-tech-block-and-carve” technique.
It is an example of how I bring together bits from my original art to create a collage, digitally-rendered. Also, the elements, both abstract and organic, become “fusion art” with the objective of story telling.
In this case, the narrative is about happy expectations of new birth and new beginnings.

Process:: acrylic (almost to watercolor,) on canvas paper, some paper strings, bits of area are oil pastels, bits stronger acrylic paint etc.—captured as a photo to create a JPEG. Digital layering of the original materials.
