WINGS No. 2 -WILD SKY -is mixed media collage of my oil pastels and and digital rendering Although it came together in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, it started –and was inspired by my residency in Friday Harbor, WA- and was first, one of my early morning projects-- digitized as an "art-tech-block-and-carve” technique I am using here.
I’m attracted to that technique because it can bring together bits from my original art to create a collage, digitally-rendered. Also, the elements, both abstract and organic, become “fusion art” with the objective of story telling.
In this case, the visual narrative - is a metaphor for life, and symbolizes new possibilities, engagement-- and the prospects in an ocean of joie de vivre.
