HER BLACK PEARLS

Part of a series, "Her Black Pearls" came to life here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina, USA, where, often, the nudge to create leads me to new perspectives. This is a digital portrait, for example. Purely imaginative, it is an emotive piece dedicated to women who hold secret moments... .

Often, the nudge to create a digital rendering such as you see here, inspires an expression and statement of compassion, feminine intuition and presence. This image is a response to the news that a dear friend had breast cancer and was about to undergo surgery and chemotherapy.




I create digital renderings such as this contemporary image using many, many, many layers digitally-rendered and blended for "pasted effects" to reveal - through pattern, texture, and light- a visual narrative about life as we know it.

This image is part of a series of –(depending on your interpretation) abstract expressionist and/or contemporary impressionist figurative pieces that invite interpretation in "mindful” spaces where east meets west, and where eastern philosophy and western technology can intersect as vehicles for visual narratives about life on our blue planet.
