Description
"Flowers Beneath a Bleeding Sun"
"Flowers Beneath a Bleeding Sun" - a figurative paintography piece is a digital rendering from my original painting (acrylic on canvas) to photography of that still life canvas as viewed from studio here in Asheville, North Carolina.
The painting and subsequent digital work entitled, "Flowers Beneath a Bleeding Sun" commemorates the anguish we feel as others suffer. As a former Broward County Guidance Counselor who worked at a feeder school to that very school, I turned to this project for relief from the sadness and horror I felt...and set an intention for healing and for change with compassion.

THANK YOU
This contemporary paintography art continues the thread of interest in nature that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way-- the fraught process of selection we—each of us-- face every day—that being the choice to look for sustainable answers, comfort and possibility in what is around us.
Theme and Symbolism: : In this paintography piece, the weeping bouquet represent the pain of loss. The juxtaposition of color with changing light symbolizes positive change through envisioning creative solutions. ”
Story and Method: : I create from what is around me. I translate sketches into canvas work then take a photo creating a mixed media digital rendering such as you see in this piece. I reach out for the story or metaphor to share in a narrative via texture, patterns, repetition that meet in the feeling of collage.
This piece creates its narrative via texture, patterns, repetition with references to "lyrical abstraction.” These elements meet to offer a feeling of coming together as the collection of concepts and forms take shape.
** This artwork is available in a variety of framed and unframed gallery-quality prints, home décor items such soft and durable duvet covers, fabric shower curtains, and throw pillows as well as greeting cards and weekender totes.
***Grateful for showing your support by liking my work here. thank you.
