Description
"Trees of Different Colors -We All Drink Water, No. 2"
This tree is an example of contemporary post-painterly abstract expressionist piece art - original photography of a huge tree- recorded as a beautiful memory - converted in the studio in Asheville, North Carolina- It became paintography art via the thread of interest that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way- nature and living things.
Symbolism: The tree is a symbol of strength. The visual story emphasizes The Fraught Process of Selection we --each of us-- face every day that is to come to understand how we are alike in so many ways- yet unique in our perspective .

THANK YOU
The Story: This image evolved from a photo I took. My dog and I were on a walk along the shore of the French Broad River in Asheville, NC. The wind, whipping up was making noises I’d never heard before while creating twirls and swirls in four directions. I had to capture that moment in a photo. This digital paintography evolved from that very photo.
Techniques: Using special digital techniques, I then added color-tones to express the sounds the dance and the emotion. There are patterns and shadows and deepening expanses that may evoke the sense that something intriguing is on the horizon.
You may have noticed a specific thread of interest that runs through what I paint on canvas or on paper or in a digital way. A main theme of my work is “The Fraught Process of Selection.” This is a subject that touches each of us every day- an experience we all share. Possibly this point of mutuality can lead to change with compassion.
** This artwork is available in a variety of framed and unframed gallery-quality prints, home décor items such soft and durable duvet covers, fabric shower curtains, and throw pillows as well as greeting cards and weekender totes.
