Did you notice a small cat in the foreground? ...contribution to the subject..“ REAL Advances in Domestic Bliss.” This is the fourth piece in my Armchair Greetings series. It evolved from my original pen and ink drawing embellished then with watercolor. I took a photo and created a digital rendering then here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina.

Symbolism and Story: Here the viewer notices a happy dog on a soft bed surrounded with his or her favorite things as the cat looks on. Look for a bit of humor and the homegrown philosophy here. There is a nod to the importance of being kind to yourself purveyed by this comfortable dog beneath the “love” sign- gently stirred into a mix of whimsy....a message of support and caring for you – as a poster- or someone else.
Method: This series features my hand-drawn black pencil frames. The effect of the combination of color accents and graphic design elements may remind you of cartoons or even figurative abstract pieces. I hope the combination creates a lasting visual impression and brings a smile to the viewer. (((*:*
