"PurrFect Harmony"
Original photography of black and white cats as viewed from a photo right here in my studio in Asheville, North Carolina. The photo ( taken by another lover of cats) then turned into contemporary paintography art via the thread of interest that runs through what I paint on canvas, or on paper, or in a digital way so that it became a visual story about “Opposites. ”
**This piece is "activist art" for cat and pet rescue and advocacy. A portion of all sales is donated to pet rescue organization.

Theme and Symbolism:: “PurrFect Harmony tells the story of two rescued felines who became friends despite their differences. To this very day, they continue to hold each other close as the visual story reveals. The image represents acceptance of “The Other” and the benefits of that choice.
Story and Method: : I create from what is around me. I translate photos into mixed media often abstract expressionist digital renderings such as you see in this piece. I reach out for the story or metaphor to share in a narrative via texture, patterns, repetition that meet in the feeling of collage.
This piece creates its narrative via texture, patterns, repetition, and "post-painterly-abstraction fauve-wave" bits that meet in the feeling of an integrated collection of concepts and forms... with a feeling of collage.
** This artwork is available in a variety of framed and unframed gallery-quality prints, home décor items such soft and durable duvet covers, fabric shower curtains, and throw pillows as well as greeting cards and weekender totes.
